Imagine being part of an investment team sourcing deals across different business sectors, speaking with dynamic startup founders and supporting portfolio companies in scaling their teams and market connections.
The TalentMBA Venture Capital Academy is for the MBA students who are VC-curious–probably looking at VC as a career lane right after the MBA or perhaps it is a longer-term destination that includes other career steps along the way. Through our 2-day remote hosted VC Academy, TalentMBA brings together startup founders and VC leaders to interact with MBA students.
Day 1 is focused on relevant venture capital topics with experts providing insights on how venture capital firms operate from identifying market opportunities for investing to collaborating with founders on strategic scaling decisions.
Day 2 is dedicated to financial modeling skills specific to cap tables and business valuation. TalentMBA has partnered with Wall Street Prep in delivering “best in class” financial training focused on aspects of the VC valuation process.

How ToApply for VC Academy
MBA students interested in being considered for the VC Academy can start by submitting their information in the Pre-Registration Form that generates instructions for creating a profile in the TalentMBA platform.
- All students in the TalentMBA platform will be notified automatically when registration for the new cohort of the VC Academy opens.
- Career Centers at selected MBA schools will also receive information on the new cohort to encourage any of their eligible students to apply.
- Upcoming dates for 2025 are March 14-15, 2025 for cohort 2: schools in CST and EST. April 4-5, 2025 for cohort 3: schools in MST and PST. These cohorts are for MBAs graduating in 2025.
- Cohort 4 and 5 dates will occur November 2025 for first year MBAs graduating 2027.
Costing less than most MBA textbooks, the student fee for attending VC Academy is $159.
Typically, the cost of the financial modeling class alone is more than 5x that amount if a student registers individually without school sponsorship.
Special group rates can be offered for business schools that partners with TalentMBA in reserving a group of seats for their students.
